I love December.

It’s a magical time of the year full of wrapping gifts in colourful paper, decorating Christmas trees, reuniting with family, last-minute shopping, and lots of festive cooking.
Regardless of what holiday you celebrate, December brings out the best: the long-awaited meetings, fancy gifts, lovely dinners, candle lights, and long heartfelt conversations.

Introducing CIC December Events, I would like to start with the annual Charity Bazaar. Rephrasing a quote about Christmas, “Don’t just buy presents, be present” we invite you to share your time, presence, and dedication to help those who are in need.
We look forward to seeing handmade crafts, international homemade and baked foods, as well as unwanted gifts, which would be appreciated by others.

I am also excited to announce that we will have our annual CIC Christmas lunch at the Moltrasio Hotel Posta.
It is a lovely place in a tiny picturesque town on the query of Lake Como! For us especially, the chef will prepare an oven-roasted Christmas stuffed turkey!

This December, we have a combination of entertaining and informational events.
We will attend the Van Cleef & Arpels Jewellery exhibition at Palazzo Reale in Milan and visit the ‘historical jewellery’. Another art event we offer this month is a Painting Exhibition in Como by talented local painters of the “Carlo Mira”.
We also invite Music connoisseurs for an annual concert performed by the Theatre of Parma.

Christmas Lunch – Dec 12th

This year we shall celebrate and exchange our wishes for the festivities in Moltrasio’s Hotel Posta with a Christmas lunch as follows:

  • Aperitivo con stuzzichini, appetizer salad,
  • Tortelloni di ricotta with pomodorini e basilico,
  • Stuffed oven roasted Christmas turkey (or pike perch fillet, if fish is preferred) with vegetables,
  • Semifreddo dessert with croccantini and chocolate sauce, water, red/white wine and coffee.

Parking is on the side road before or in the Hotel’s garage, the restaurant is on the lake and you can reach it easily by boat.

Exhibition Of The Nativity Scenes And Concert Under The Stars – Dec 8th

Villa del Balbianello will open its doors during the Christmas period to inaugurate the exhibition of the nativity scenes.

In Loggia Segre, one of the most beautiful corners of the villa, we will visit the exhibition of Neapolitan nativity scenes. Then we will proceed to Loggia Durini to see the exhibition of paper nativity scenes.
At 21:30 there will be a concert under the stars in the garden and after the concert all guests will be offered panettone and mulled wine.

This night is a great opportunity to visit this beautiful villa in winter and to immerse into the festive atmosphere!

Guided Tour To The Historic Milan Jewellery And Van Cleef & Arpels Jewellery – Dec 6th

We will start our tour with a cup of tea and pastry in one of the 5-star hotels in the centre of Milan.
Then we will see the exhibition of Van Cleef & Arpels Jewellery at Palazzo Reale and after the exhibition, we will visit an art gallery of jewellery, historic jewellery shop founded in 1919 (with archives not available to the public), and high jewellery workshop.
