LETTER FROM THE 2019 PRESIDENT

September and not January is the start of a new year for Como International Club, and I’m very honoured to be the president of the club this year. I will do my best to enrich the club’s activities, amplify the community, and make it an even more valuable experience for all of us. Autumn is an ideal season for new beginnings, and with this, we have new board members who already have begun to implement new ideas and develop new events. They will be presented at our first Coffee Morning.

One of the new introductions for the new season is -Social Friday- which will take place monthly in the centre of Como city. This evening event is open to everyone; it’s an excellent opportunity to meet new people and also expand the community.

A good community is about mutual relations, so, if you would like to contribute and share your gained knowledge or skills, please let us know.

We are looking for master-classes, lessons, round tables, language talks, sports activities organized by members. If you can do any of it – contact us, and we will be happy to discuss further.

COFFEE MORNING

Our next coffee morning will be held on Wednesday, 6th November at the Yacht Club Como.

Join us and meet some great like-minded international ladies!

This is a fantastic opportunity to grow your network in the area and enjoy a host of great activities organised by our board. Membership cost is €55/year.

Non-members and newcomers are also welcome to come for just €5, including a free drink and snacks prepared by our members. If you decide to become a CIC member, this amount will be deducted from the yearly membership fee (55 Euros).

We look forward to seeing you all.

** Reminder ** Being a current member of the Como International Club includes being an active participant in events – all members should be contributing something for the coffee morning buffet at least once per year.

Elena Markova Appointed President of the Como International Club

Como International Club appointed Elena Markova to be the President of the Club for a term of 1 year.

According to the club’s regulation, the president is heading the club and is responsible for eventual official issues. The president of the Como International Club is elected annually from the previous board’s members.

During her professional career, Elena Markova worked in marketing and communication within international companies. Markova founded the online magazine COMO Lake Today, dedicated to the Lake Como region.

The Como International Club (CIC) was founded in 1970 and welcomes women of all nationalities in Como, Italy and the surrounding areas. The CIC aims to promote international friendships through social events and an array of cultural activities in and around Lake Como. The club currently has over 120 members.
